Who's the biggest music star in 2010? Without a doubt, the answer is the king of Hip-hop. He's back! The king's back! Our Slim Shady's back!
As everyone knows, the nominations for the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards have been announced lately. And this Music's Biggest Night will be held February 13, 2011. With 10 nods for his comeback album, "Recovery," Eminem led the nominations this time. At this point, perhaps we can officially declare Eminem's comeback to be complete. He's already got the year's best-selling album (and a pair of the biggest singles), and now, well, he's the most-nominated artist of the 53rd annual Grammy Awards. On the stage with 300mw green laser rays overhead, Eminem picked up a staggering 10 Grammy nods, including Song and Record of the Year (for "Love the Way You Lie") and Album of the Year (for Recovery, which is also up for Rap Album of the Year). He also scored nominations for Best Rap Solo Performance (for "Not Afraid"), Pop Collaboration with Vocals (for his turn on B.o.B's "Airplanes Part II") and Best Rap Song (for "Lie").
This Music's Biggest Night will be held February 13, 2011. "This year's nominations are a true reflection of an exceptional and talented community of music makers that embody some of the highest levels of excellence and artistry in their respective fields," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy. "It is most gratifying to see the GRAMMY Awards process once again produce a broad cross section of diverse and impressive nominees across multiple genres. Coupled with the third year of our primetime nominations special, the road to Music's Biggest Night, the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards in February, is off to an exciting start." For us music fans, it will be a grand ceremony for this year. I think all the fans must be on the tiptoe of expectation.
"Recovery" is the seventh studio album by American rapper Eminem, released June 18, 2010 by Aftermath Entertainment and Shady Records. Production for the album took place during 2009 to 2010 at several recording studios and was handled by various record producers, including Alex da Kid, Just Blaze, Boi-1da, Jim Jonsin, DJ Khalil, and Dr. Dre. Originally recorded as a sequel to Eminem's previous album Relapse (2009), Recovery features more introspective and emotional content than its predecessor. I first find this album when searching for a 200mw laser pointer on the net. When I opened the website of an online shop which supplied wholesale electronics at low price, the single, "Love the Way You Lie", came up and I was attracted by it at once. I booked the album with a 10mw green laser. Since I received the CD, I had been played it over and over again.
The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 741,000 copies in its first week in the United States. This made Eminem the first artist in Soundscan history to have four albums debut with sales of over 700,000. It became Eminem's sixth consecutive number-one album in the US and topped the chart for seven weeks. It also achieved international commercial success, charting at number one in several other countries, and produced three singles that achieved chart success, including the Billboard hit "No Love" and international hits "Not Afraid" and "Love the Way You Lie". On the album, there are so many dance beats you could hear under the 100mw red laser at clubs. Despite some criticism regarding its consistency, Recovery received positive reviews from most music critics. The album has sold over three million copies in the US. It received ten nominations at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards including Album of the Year and Best Rap Album.
For years Eminem has had his pain and anger from the problems with his mother and ex wife to rap about. Now that he has gone through the hardships of life and gotten all of that out of the way he's rapping about real things. All together this Album was well produced and written and therefore it is really better well done than the former one. Eminem has cleaned up his life and is now making the music we all knew he could. I'll be a lifetime fan of him.
